Project History

All Saints is a flourishing evangelical Anglican church in the popular village of Trull, which adjoins Taunton. We have a church building dating back 750 years where three of our regular church services are held. We also have the Trull Church Community Centre (TCCC) across the road where all our children, youth and families’ work takes place and two of our regular services. We also have a sister church, St Michael’s in Angersleigh.

On a Sunday we have 3 services: 8 o’clock traditional BCP service, Ten30 with teaching groups for 0-14 year olds, and our contemporary Five30 service which takes place in the TCCC and is followed by our 14-18s group called Pulse. We also have a monthly Family Service which takes place in the TCCC and a monthly midweek communion service in the church building.

Our church community is diverse with people from all generations. We have a large number of young adults who meet in two Growth Groups. There are also a number of families with children ranging from newborn to teenagers. We have lots of midweek groups and run church events for all ages and stages.

As a church, we have strong links with the village community using the TCCC which hosts a volunteer-run cafe, an independent pre-school and many other community groups. We also have strong links with the Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School next door.

We have the privilege of bringing the gospel into the community through these various means. We are committed to seeing people of all ages come to faith in Jesus Christ and to grow in their love and service of Him.

Structure & Vision

We believe God’s purpose for All Saints is: “Becoming and making mature disciples of Jesus in Trull and beyond”

Our Vision is to have:

  • A welcoming and caring community for all-ages, all-styles and all-stages of faith in Jesus
  • An obedient community rooted in the authority and preaching of God’s word, the Bible, seeking to understand it, apply it and, most importantly, to joyfully obey it.
  • A reaching-out community seeking to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all in word and deed
  • A whole-life community seeking to live out the life of the kingdom of our Father God wherever we are day by day
  • A Spirit-led community seeking, through prayer, to live in the empowering presence of God’s Holy Spirit

Location

The popular village of Trull where we are located adjoins Taunton. Trull has a population of 2000 and has a strong sense of community. There is a school, post office, village stores, pub, the TCCC and 2 other village halls. The village is surrounded by countryside, and has a large playing field and children’s play area. Taunton is easily accessible by bus, car, bike or on foot. There is a good railway connection in Taunton.

The TCCC has great facilities for our work - it has three dedicated offices for clergy, admin staff and the children, youth and families’ team. A large hall that splits into 3 smaller halls with fantastic AV setups. We also have a smaller meeting room upstairs. Although we don’t have much outdoor space, the park and countryside are on our doorstep and we also have access to the school and forest-school area.

Current Ministry

All Saints is a very busy church. We run many ministries for all ages alongside our regular services. Have a look at our website for more information on our adult ministries.

As a church we have a long history of flourishing children and youth ministries. The church has invested in paid children and youth workers for many years and this is a big priority for us.

We run both outreach and discipleship groups for all ages and are always evaluating and developing our ministry to support the needs of the children, youth and families. We are really keen to have a joined-up approach, where families can move with their children from birth to adulthood and be supported all the way. We are very much a children, youth and families’ team.

Creche, Mini STOMP, STOMP, Watchers and Pulse are our Sunday teaching groups for all ages from birth to leaving school. We aim to run our teaching in line with sermons so families can discuss and grow together in their faith.

Encounter is a girls’ group for 10-15 year olds run on a Monday night where we seek to help girls grow in their faith and become confident young women.

Angels is our baby and toddler group run on a Thursday morning.

Launchpad is an after-school club for those in Years 3-6.

Trull School is our local CofE Primary school. We do weekly collective worship including Open The Book. We also run lunch clubs and a yearly 2-day event called Spirituality Through Play.

Family Service is our interactive family-centred service, happening once a month, and involves our Kids’ Worship Team.

Events include family outreach events and Holiday Clubs throughout the year.

Camps and Ventures - We send teams of leaders and children and young people to two residentials in the summer - Spree & Sparkford 3 CPAS Venture.

Taunton-wide - We help to lead a town-wide youth event called Taunton Youth Gathering.

We also encourage our children and young people to get involved with serving within the life of the church mainly through music and tech. We have youth musicians and a fledgling Kids’ Worship team.

Although we have loads going on, we always seek to grow and develop our work, look for new ideas and approaches and serve the people we have in our community now. We would love someone who wants to go on that journey with us as part of their training.
