Project History
Christ Church Woodbury (CCW) is an established and experienced church, both in our ministry to the village of Woodbury, where we have a building, and to the rest of East Devon. We are an independent church, not affiliated with any particular denomination, but we have very close ties and work in partnership with churches across Exeter and Exmouth, as well as in Woodbury itself. There is a long history of youth and children's work at CCW, and we are passionate about reaching this generation and equipping others to do the same. We currently employ a youth worker, children's worker, and a community church worker who will all be a part of encouraging and supporting our SWYM trainee in personally growing in ministry, faith, and in reaching this generation.
Structure & Vision
The tag line for the church is 'worship God, serve one other, and introducing people to Jesus'.
Our vision is ‘To reach every person in Woodbury and surrounding area with the Love of God,
through immersing ourselves in our community
supported by a loving, faith growing church family’
Location
Our building is situated in the village of Woodbury (3500 people), which sits in East Devon roughly between the city of Exeter (130,000 people) and the seaside town of Exmouth (35,000 people). Woodbury is a quiet village with a strong sense of community closely nestled against incredible countryside called Woodbury Common. However, our heart and vision is to make a difference across all of East Devon. Around half of our church live in the town of Exmouth, which boasts beautiful beaches and seaside fun, as well as the second largest secondary school in all of Europe called Exmouth Community College.
