Project History
We are a local Baptist church in Plymouth, based in the Devonport area.
Planted in 1997, we have been serving the community of Devonport in many ways since. We currently meet in a local community centre. We have a Toddler group that meets in a local café and also work with other local churches to provide a Food Club and a Messy Church in the local Library (which is also the home of the local Anglican church)
While the primary placement will be with the Baptist church, there will also be the opportunity to work with the other local churches and church leaders
Structure & Vision
As a community, we are committed to living by a set of values:
- To be generous with each other – not just in terms of money, but also in terms of time and energy (Generosity)

Location
We meet in Devonport, which is a mixture of a beautiful seafront location, and one of the biggest parks in Plymouth but is also an area of historic and ongoing deprivation.
Devonport is in the 1% most deprived locations in England and is in the bottom 5 most deprived areas in Devon.
Current Ministry
We serve Devonport in many ways
a Food club on Wednesday morning- providing over 100 local families with cheap healthy food
a Toddler group - meeting in a local café
Messy Church - once a month with other local churches in the local Library
