Project History

Resound Church is located in Mangotsfield, which is in East Bristol. It was born out of Bristol Christian Fellowship and became ‘Resound’ as it is now in 2012, when we moved into a new purpose built building. The heart from that time has always been to be a light and resource for the community.

Structure & Vision

At Resound we have leadership team with a team leader, a team of trustees, and a staff team. We also have a wider leadership team who oversee various ministry areas. You can view the team and their roles on this page of our website: https://www.resoundbristol.co.uk/team. We are a registered charity, Registered Charity No. 294924,  and a member of the Pioneer Network. We are also a Woodlands Associate Church.

Our vision is to be a community that loves and empowers individuals, loves and impacts the city and loves and actively cares for the world. We want to see everyone who is part of the Resound family, equipped as a minister of Christ in their everyday life. We aim for our small groups to be missional communities and are committed to 'extending the table' and being genuinely welcoming to all people.

We’re passionate about praying for and being involved in what God is doing in our city and region and love to partner with other churches and organisations, because we want to see God’s kingdom come and recognise that we can work towards this better together than apart.

Location

Resound is located on the eastern outskirts of Bristol, with easy transport links to the city centre. The building sits at the crossroads of Mangotsfield, Downend and Emersons Green. It's a mainly residential area with some new housing developments which have brought families to the area.

We have a good relationship with other churches in our area and come together for community events, as well as connecting with networks and organisations across the city as much as possible.

Current Ministry

Naturally it's hard to summarise all that makes up the life of Resound, but here is some of what we get up to. We currently have Sunday morning services with around 120 people, three times a month, with the fourth being a morning for families in the community to come together for a messy church style morning. We also have a smaller evening service twice a month and have regular family lunches that take the place of a service with the aim of being a place people can invite others to. Outside of that, almost everyone in the church is involved in a small group, which we see as being a key part of church life. We are also active in the community, with youth connections to local secondary schools, an active toddler group,  and a Foodbank,  We are also involved with supporting the homeless in our city and those in prison.

Beyond this, we often host live music events and have a busy social calendar with art and photography groups, women's events and more.
