Resound Church, Bristol

Resound Church is located in Mangotsfield, which is in East Bristol. It was born out of Bristol Christian Fellowship and became ‘Resound’ as it is now in 2012, when we moved into a new purpose built building. The heart from that time has always been to be a light and resource for the community.

Our vision is to 'belong to a community, become more like Jesus, build God's kingdom'. The purpose of Resound is to be a community that makes disciples and is becoming more like Jesus. The aim is to be an inclusive place where people can belong to the Resound family and community. We want to encourage the whole family to become more like Jesus, wherever you are in your journey. It doesn’t matter where you are when you begin, what matters is a desire to become more like Jesus. And finally, we want to build the Kingdom. This means taking the light and life of Jesus outside the church to touch other lives with the hope and prayer that more people will want to belong to the family of God, at Resound or elsewhere. That they will gradually grow to become more like Jesus, and in turn build the Kingdom.

We’re passionate about praying for and being involved in what God is doing in our city and region and love to partner with other churches and organisations, because we want to see God’s kingdom come and recognise that we can work towards this better together than apart.

Resound is located on the eastern outskirts of Bristol, with easy transport links to the city centre. The building sits at the crossroads of Mangotsfield, Downend and Emersons Green. It's a mainly residential area with some new housing developments which have brought families to the area.

We have a good relationship with other churches in our area and come together for community events, as well as connecting with networks and organisations across the city as much as possible.

Naturally it's hard to summarise all that makes up the life of Resound, but here is some of what we get up to:

We currently have Sunday morning services with around 80 people ranging from newborns to 90s! During each Sunday morning service we have worship, a short talk and opportunity for response and ministry. A group for primary aged children and a creche space run as part of the service.

We see midweek small groups a key part of church life and the majority of the church is part of one. They allow people to build lasting friendships and share life together, whilst exploring and deepening their faith.

We are active in the community running a food bank, a thriving toddler group, school holiday activities, lunch club at a primary school, secondary schools mentoring, detached work and a weekly youth club. We are part of a housing project in our local area and are also involved in the Mutende Project school and orphanage in Zambia.

Beyond this, we host monthly live music events and have a busy social calendar with art and photography groups, and a monthly café aiming to tackle loneliness and isolation in our community.

Our building is a great asset and we hire it out to lots of different groups including a preschool, 2 different churches and ministry events, as well as for other community and corporate events.
