Joel Preston

Chair of Trustees

Joel is Charity Leader for Mullers in Bristol. He also leads the Bristol Youth & Children’s Ministry Network, The Mix (a regional youth celebration), and has previously been a local church youth worker.

Harri Sharp

Harri leads a number of Early Years businesses and is a Young Families worker for YMCA Exeter. Harri serves on the Leadership team at her church and has a passion for teaching children about following Jesus. Harri is the Minutes Secretary for the Trustees.

Dan Searle

Dan is from Plymouth, and now serves as a Salvation Army church leader in St Austell. Dan trained with SWYM (2017 – 2021) and has a heart for the South West and for reaching all people with Jesus’ love. Dan loved his time in SWYM and hopes to encourage people to serve Jesus, as he was.

Rosemary Sowden

Rosemary has been a trustee since the beginning of SWYM. Rosemary was a senior manager in the NHS before her retirement and brings her skills to the Risk Management and Policy Review Committee as well as helping support Grant applications for SWYM.

John Russell

John has been involved in SWYM for 20 years and spent his working life in banking. He has been a church leader and also holds Trusteeships in 2 further Christian charities. John oversees finance at SWYM.

Jozzy Mudzingwa

Jozzy works for Plymouth City Council’s Youth Justice Service which aims to prevent children and young people from offending and try to help them stay away from crime. Jozzy trained with SWYM (2012-17) and has stayed connected through Spree SW and other events.

Esther Stansfield

Esther is Head of Mobilisation for Latin Link Britain and Ireland. She has a passion to see young people encountering Jesus and being equipped to step into His big mission story both locally and globally. Esther supports the prayer and pastoral aspects of SWYM’s ministry.

Bridget Down

Bridget is married to Kevin and lives in Mid Devon on a farm with their 4 children. Bridget works for the Methodist Church and is involved in Training and Safeguarding and serves as part of the Safeguarding Team at SWYM.

Ruth Flanagan

Ruth is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter, educating teachers across the South West. Ruth has a passion for intercultural communication, training and teaching and has previously served on the Board of Trustees for Moorlands College.

Bob Wallington

Bob is ordained in the Church of England and together with his wife Tabi, leads Exeter Network Church. He has been involved in youth work for almost 20 years, and loves seeing young people encounter Jesus Christ.
