Project History
This placement would be based within the Communications and Engagement team of the Diocese of Exeter. The team covers all aspects of diocesan communications and missional engagement. This includes our website, social media platforms, newsletters, press releases, crisis communications, safeguarding communications, video production, livestreaming, running events with the Mission and Ministry team and training churches in all aspects of communications and digital evangelism/witness. Structure & Vision

This placement is for a Growing Faith worker (who will be funded by the Pray Grow Serve 2035 SMMiB grant). The SWYM trainee will work as part of the Communications and Engagement team with a particular focus on digital mission and evangelism to younger generations. Part of the role will be a scoping exercise to help us best shape our digital ministry stategy to reach younger generations and their families in an effective way.
This is a new role so we are very happy to work with SWYM to make sure it fits the SWYM criteria.
The trainess will be line managed by the Director of Communications and Engagement and will be supported by the EDBF employee structure and People team.
Location
We have a hybrid working policy so the role will be split between the Old Deanery offices in Exeter and home/remote working.
We also have offices in Plymouth.
The role will involve some location working where appropriate but the exact nature of this can be tailored to suit the trainee.
Current Ministry
The Communications and Engagement team covers all aspects of diocesan communications and missional engagement. This includes our website, social media platforms, newsletters, press releases, crisis communications, safeguarding communications, video production, livestreaming, running events with the Mission and Ministry team and training churches in all aspects of communications and digital evangelism/witness. We work closely with other diocesan departments including Mission and Ministry, Education, Buildings, Mission Resources. We also work closely with Devon's three bishops.
