Emmaus Christian Centre

Emmaus Church was started decades ago. 30 yrs ago the centre was built and serves the church and community well. The church hasn't employed a full-time minister, but John and Carol have led it with the help of others, and visiting speakers for the most part.

Now the church is led by a Leadership Team (5 of us including John), and supported by Ministry Leaders (meeting 3x a year with LT), and Trustees.  John-Mark is employed half-time as a Pastoral assistant, and chairs the leadership team.  John-Mark attends and leads every 1st and 3rd Sunday and preaches once a month.

The Sunday services have guest speakers half the time, but John-Mark and members of the congregation are speaking half the time.  Sunday school is every week and a small team lead that. Can be 2 - 8 children.

Beach club (KS2 children), and Youth club (teens), every Friday night term-time.

Coffee morning monthly for women. Men's group meet monthly on a Saturday.

Toddler and parent group every Wednesday morning run externally but John-Mark does the songs each week and the church provides refreshments.

Home groups meet fortnightly in the evenings and one meets Thursday afternoon.

Film club is monthly - watching an episode of The Chosen, and then discussing it.

John-Mark writes and delivers an assembly each week in 2 local primary schools - a story from the Bible, a song and a prayer.
