Putting Children and Young People at the Centre
Lucy Moore | 19th April 2027
How do we ensure children and young people are at the heart of everything we do in our churches, mission, and schools?
We will explore what it means to move beyond seeing children and young people as recipients of ministry and instead recognise them as active participants in the life of the Church.
Together we will consider how worship, discipleship, leadership, mission, and decision-making can better reflect their voices, gifts, and experiences and where their presence shapes the vision and direction of our ministries.
Lucy Moore is Head of the Growing Faith Foundation for the Church of England, helping schools, churches and households to work together for the spiritual flourishing of all children and young people. She is the founder of Messy Church and developed it through her work at BRF until early 2022. She worked as a secondary school teacher of languages and subsequently in many primary schools across the UK through the Barnabas in Schools RE programme, bringing the Bible to life through storytelling and drama. She lives with her husband and assorted pond snails in Sheffield.
