Youth / Beacon Activity Instructor

Lee Abbey Devon welcomes people and serves churches with the vision of people encountering Jesus Christ so that lives, relationships, communities and environment are transformed. It is run by a Christian community from many nations. Being in Community is about living, working, serving and worshipping closely together, being open to being known for who we are. It’s challenging but great fun too, and if you let it, it can be life changing.

As part of our Beacon Youth & Children’s Team we are looking for people who have a heart and passion for young people, the great outdoors and for leading adventurous outdoor activities. We deliver activities and youth sessions to schools and young people who come to Lee Abbey.

• Experience of working with children and young people of different ages and backgrounds
• To enjoy particularly working with and interacting with young people
• Organisational and initiative skills
• Experience of appropriate approach to evangelism with children and young people
• Good fitness and health
• Computer literacy
• Good communication skills

• Experience in outdoor activities:
  • You will be able to demonstrate an interest in outdoor pursuits and a love of working in the outdoors.  Experience of outdoor pursuits advantageous but not essential.  Whilst at Lee Abbey you will be expected to work towards achieving outdoor qualifications.
  • Some experience and awareness of Health & Safety and First Aid

You will be living in Lee Abbey Devon in your own room with all food and utilities provided.

Mon -  Cluster and study

Tues - Work in team 9-5 or 2-10

Wednesday - Work 9-5

Thursday - Work in team 9-5 or 2-10

Friday - Day off

Saturday - Work 9-5

Sunday - work in team (3hr shift)
