Children, Youth and Families Worker

Preston Baptist Church is an active church in the heart of the community of Preston. Our church is alive with activity throughout the week, from baby and toddler groups to our community food club and cafe.

Over the last few years, our children’s church has grown rapidly and we now have children with us of all ages. We also have an incredible and experienced team of volunteers who have a passion for helping children and young people grow in their relationship with God.

We are keen to support our children, young people and their families. We would highly value someone joining our team to invest their time into developing our children, youth and families work. 

We will pray with you, support you and work with you as a church, doing all we can to empower you to grow in your own skills, experience and faith. You will be supported by our Children and Youth team, Church Coordinator, Church Secretary and the Minister.

The job itself will involve, but not be limited to the following. It will be adapted as necessary to meet your needs and your desire to grow in your Christian faith.

• To help implement the new vision for the Children, Youth and Families work from September
• To support the existing teams that work with Children, Young People and Families
• To help plan one-off events within the community
• To make and develop contacts with other youth organisations/events within Torbay
• To help with publicity and resources for events
• Participate in the Sunday service and groups that meet on a Sunday morning.
• Be willing to help and, when you are ready, lead all age services

• A committed Christian who loves God and has a desire to grow in their own faith
• Have a passion to help young people find and grow their faith
• Enthusiasm to work and build relationships with children and youth
• Good communication skills
• Good organisational skills
• Approachable and friendly
• Willing to learn and try new things

• A desire to become part of our worshipping community
• Ability to work with Multi-Media and Technology
• Creative skills
