Project History

The North Wilts Mission Area is a covenanted group of 6 Anglican Benefices (31 parishes) in North Wiltshire. We are part of the Diocese of Bristol and are supported through the Church of England's Strategic Development Fund.

We are ideally placed to be an innovative team developing work which could inform rural ministry in the national church

Structure & Vision

Our vision is to see the Holy Spirit working powerfully in North Wiltshire to bring new people into the Kingdom of God, to renew our churches and to grow confident followers of Jesus. Our prayer is to be tangible presences of Jesus Christ in our communities.

We have a Senior Team and a number of mission communities of which Dynamo our youth and children's group is one. We long to be able to resource and support more youth and children's work in our area and will be employing and experienced Youth Worker to lead a team of trainees and local Christians to develop our work.

Location

We are located to the north of the M4 at Junction 17, close to the town of Chippenham.  Our Benefices include small towns such as Malmesbury and Cricklade as well as a number of villages.

Current Ministry

We are a group of 6 benefices. Each has its own ministry team consisting of a number of Clergy and Licensed Lay Ministers. Two groups employ specialists to lead children's and youth work in schools and the community and we have several active volunteers.  We have good links with all our primary schools and with Malmesbury Secondary School.
